VANCOUVER — It's not revenge. It's not redemption. To Carli Lloyd, the Women's World Cup final is all about putting a third star on the United States jersey.
The match coming against the same Japan program that defeated the Americans four years ago is, in her mind, coincidental.
"It's a new World Cup, it's a different team than four years prior, it's a different situation," Lloyd said. "It's just another World Cup final match that happens to be against Japan.
