The future looks bright for the U.S. national team after its World Cup title, with Abby Wambach and Co. passing the torch to a new generation.
VANCOUVER — In winning the 2015 Women's World Cup, the U.S. national team has sent a generation of loyal servants out on top.
All-time leading scorer Abby Wambach has confirmed this was her last World Cup. Longtime captain Christie Rampone and veteran midfielder Shannon Boxx are winding down their careers as well. Even 27-year-old Lauren Holiday, who debuted internationally in 2007, is stepping away from the national team to focus on her family life.
