Wojciech Szczesny is expected to be announced as a new Barcelona player shortly after opting to come out of retirement and help out the Catalans in the wake of Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s long-term injury.
The Poland international has already been spotted jetting into Barcelona on Monday for a medical, and it seems the only thing now missing is an official announcement by the club.
Szczesny looks set to wear the No. 25 shirt at Barcelona, with the goalkeeper having no other option, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The only spare first-team squad numbers currently available are the 12, 22 and 25 but La Liga rules states goalkeepers can only wear the 1, 13 or 25.
