Wojciech Szczesny has revealed how Robert Lewandowski “was the first person who called” him to talk about a possible move to Barcelona.
The goalkeeper has signed with the Catalans for the rest of the season following Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s long-term injury.
Szczesny says that Lewandowski played a key role in making the move happen.
“He was the first person who called me to look into the possibility of this happening because I was retired,” he told the media.
“At first I wasn’t ready for new challenges but I spoke to my family and friends and they all told me it would be a mistake not to accept this.
