The Manchester City boss had said his club captain will not be able to play for Belgium despite being called up for their next two fixtures, but the national coach disagrees.
Belgium manager Marc Wilmots has risked the wrath of Manchester City counterpart Manuel Pellegrini by suggesting Vincent Kompany will be fit to play for his country.
Kompany has been called up for the upcoming fixtures against Andorra and Israel despite missing the last four City games with a calf injury.
"I talked to Vincent on the phone yesterday," he told a press conference.
