Willian sets Brazil, Chelsea on collision course over Olympics

Dunga wants Willian as a part of his squad in Rio, but playing in the Games and the Copa America could leave the midfielder in danger of burnout ahead of the new season.

Dunga and his Brazil squad go to the United States immediately after the European season for the 2016 Copa Centenario — which is scheduled to kick off June 3 — and from there the coach will start preparing his players for the Rio Olympic Games — which start Aug. 4.

The men’s soccer competition at the 2016 Olympics is, as always, an under-23 event with three overage players — born before January 1993 — also permitted in each squad.
