Louis van Gaal's men currently sit two points behind Manchester City, and Tuesday marks the game in hand they have on the Citizens. A win would put the Red Devils in pole position to clinch fourth place on Sunday at Old Trafford against Bournemouth.
The Hammers shouldn't be counted out of Tuesday's contest because they will be playing their final game at Upton Park before moving to the Olympic Stadium next year.
