'We forgot his jersey. It's as simple as that' – Northampton on name-less player shirt

The striker had to make do without a name and number against Swindon Town, and his manager was unflinching in revealing the reason.

League One side Northampton Town was brutally honest about why striker Jonathan Hooper came off the bench against Swindon Town in a shirt without a name and number.

According to manager Rob Page, the 22-year-old entered Tuesday's clash as a substitute in an unmarked shirt because the dlub "forgot" his jersey.

"We forgot his jersey. It's as simple as that," he told BBC Radio Northampton. "I'd love to make something up, but we just got on with it and didn't make a fuss about it.
