Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney has revealed his frustration after his team’s sensational 3-3 draw with Newcastle United on Tuesday.
After leading 2-0, the hosts managed to claw their way back into the contest and level at 2-2. When Rooney smashed home his second of the day in the 79th minute, the points seemed to be heading back to Old Trafford, but a deflected strike from Paul Dummett in the 90th minute made it 3-3 and salvaged a point for the Magpies.
Although he netted a brace and bagged an assist, the captain was far from happy when reflecting on the game, per Luke Gardener of the Daily Star:
I think they were silly goals to concede on our behalf and they were avoidable.
