To the delight of many, the United States national team crashed out of the Copa America Centenario after a 4-0 defeat to Argentina at NRG Stadium on Tuesday. As you might expect, Lionel Messi was superb, scoring a goal and notching two assists for La Albiceleste to lead his country to another Copa America final.
His only goal of the match came in the 32nd minute when the Barcelona superstar placed a sensational free kick past a hapless Brad Guzan to give Argentina a 2-0 lead.
As if scoring one of the tournament's best goals wasn't enough, the goal made sure Lionel Messi surpassed Gabriel Batistuta as the nation's all-time leading goalscorer.
