When your opponent's defence is this badly organised, who needs a playmaker?
The Azadi Stadium in Tehran was the stage for Iran's World Cup qualifier with China on Tuesday, and the visitors went home with nothing after some particularly suspect defending.
Having emerged for the second half just moments before, China's back line made a meal of what could have been a routine clearance, only for Mehdi Taremi to pounce and make it 1-0.
The goal prompted a raft of changes from Marcelo Lippi, but it wasn't enough and the damage had already been done.
