Victor Guzman tears ligament, likely to miss World Cup

Pachuca midfielder Victor Guzman’s world went from ecstasy to total disappointment this weekend. After getting his first call up to the Mexico National team for Wednesday’s game against Bosnia and Herzegovina, the midfielder had to leave the game against Tigres on Saturday with an injury. Today Club Pachuca announced that Guzman tore a ligament and will have to have an operation in the coming days. The prognosis after the operation still hasn’t come out but the normal time of recovery is up to six months, essentially ending his World Cup chances. Meanwhile, Jesus Molina will take his place for the game against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
