Julio Furch scored twice as Veracruz lifted their first trophy in 66 years with a 4-1 victory over Necaxa in the final of the Copa MX Clausura.
After a goalless first half, a Hugo Cid header three minutes after the break gave the Tiburones Rojos the lead.
Necaxa, who still harbor ambitions of winning promotion to Liga MX, equalized four minutes later when Jorge Sanchez headed home from an Oscar Fernandez cross.
Veracruz kept pushing forward, though, and were back in front on 58 minutes through Julio Furch. Another set-piece ended with the Argentine forward sending a header past Jesus Gallardo to give the Tiburones Rojos the lead.
