VAR audio of Fermin Lopez’s ‘dangerous’ red card for Barcelona vs Sevilla released

Fermin Lopez was sent off for Barcelona against Sevilla on Sunday night in La Liga for a challenge that initially brought a yellow card. However, it was upgraded to a red following a VAR review and the audio of the decision has now been released.

VAR Carlos del Cerro Grande told match referee Alejandro Jose Hernandez Hernandez to go to the screens to review his decision, saying: “Alejandro, I recommend a review for a potentially serious rough play.”

Carlos del Cerro then continues: “I’m going to leave it for you in dynamics so you can see how he does the tackle and how he goes in with his leg high and his leg bends.
