Cristiano Ronaldo lost a battle against "Diego Alves' psychological games" on Saturday night, according to Marca.
Real Madrid drew 2-2 with Valencia on Saturday, with Ronaldo missing a crucial penalty just before half-time when Real trailed 2-0.
According to Marca, just before taking the spot-kick, the Valencia goalkeeper told Ronaldo: "Don't shoot to my right."
Ronaldo didn't heed the advice, went to the 'keeper's right and missed the spot-kick.
Marca noted:
Alves had it all thought out, and not in vain either, and thus far all three penalties in which the two of them have been involved have gone the same way, and the tally at the moment stands at two saved and one scored.
