The league has conducted a review of the incident and identified the player Rogers referred to in a Facebook post on Sunday.
The United Soccer League has suspended Orange County Blues FC midfielder Richard Chaplow for two games and fined him an undisclosed amount for abusive language toward LA Galaxy defender Robbie Rogers.
In a Facebook post published Sunday, Rogers alleged he was repeatedly called "queer" during the match on Saturday. Rogers, who is openly gay, was playing for LA Galaxy II in a match while rehabbing from an injury.
Rogers did not name the player who abused him, but the USL says it conducted a video review and spoke with the referee, as well as players and staff from both teams to help identify Chaplow.
