USA Goalkeeper Tim Howard Announces He Plans to Retire After 2019 MLS Season

Tim Howard has said the 2019 Major League Soccer will be his last. The former Manchester United and Everton goalkeeper announced his decision via Twitter on Tuesday:

Tim Howard

I’m greatly looking forward to kicking off the 2019 MLS season, as it will be my LAST. There will be plenty of time for sentiment later. For now, I am going to enjoy every minute. And as I’ve always done, compete hard and help lead the Rapids with the sole purpose of winning. https://t.co/QWuCcy7gW2

Despite the decision to call time on his career, the 39-year-old will continue preparations to make his final campaign a winning one with Colorado Rapids.
