The 35-year-old will finish her soccer career following the remainder of the USWNT's victory tour schedule in December.
U.S. women's national team star Abby Wambach has announced her retirement.
Wambach, the leading scorer in the history of international soccer, will end her 15-year international career following four games in December. Her final match will be on Dec. 16 against China in New Orleans, which will be the last match of a 10-game victory tour following this year's World Cup title.
“After much deliberation and talking with my friends, family, teammates and our coaching staff, I’ve decided to finally bring my soccer career to an end,” said Wambach.
