U.S. toothless vs. Colombia

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Colombia made relatively easy work of the U.S. men's national team, defeating the hosts 2-0 in the curtain-raiser of the Copa America Centenario. An early goal from Cristian Zapata and a James Rodriguez penalty just before half-time put Los Cafeteros in firm control and while the U.S. threatened occasionally from set pieces, Colombia cruised to victory.

Here are three thoughts from a disappointing night for the U.S. at Levi's Stadium.

1. Colombia dictate the game... with their defense
