Maki Tall and Emerson Hyndman scored goals to counter Myanmar's unexpected opener
The United States U-20 side started off its World Cup campaign with a win, though it hardly looked convincing doing so.
Tab Ramos’ side fell behind early to Myanmar, before coming back for two unanswered goals in a 2-1 victory Northland Events Centre in Whangarei, New Zealand.
The U.S. got off to a shaky start and paid for it within 10 minutes. Myanmar whipped in a corner kick to the near post which goalkeeper Zach Steffen couldn’t hold with traffic all around him. Yan Naing Oo was on hand to poke home the loose ball from close range to give his side a shock lead.
