We officially have a man to blow the whistle in the UEFA Super Cup.
The European Federation's Referees Committee has decided to appoint 36-year-old Scotland referee William Collum to officiate the European Super Cup between Barcelona and Sevilla, to be played next Tuesday in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Born in Glasgow, Collum, who is a FIFA international referee, is no rookie when it comes to important European matches, having overseen 68 official UEFA fixtures so far in his career, including six UEFA Champions League games last season, most of them in the knockout stages. He has already refereed one UCL game this season, the playoff first leg between Ajax and Rapid Wien.
