UEFA assign referee for Champions League match between Barcelona and Borussia Mönchengladbach

We have an official whistle blower for the next Barcelona match in Europe.

The European Federation announced that Damir Skomina from Slovenia has been appointed as the match official for the UEFA Champions League clash between Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Barcelona on Wednesday night, at Borussia-Park in Germany. This will be Skomina's second Champions League assignment this season (Celtic 5-2 Hapoel Beer Sheva).

The 40-year-old has become one of the top referees in Europe over the last few years. Skomina has been assigned for some of the biggest European matches for club and country competitions, including four games in EURO 2016, one of those being the quarterfinal between Wales and Belgium.
