UEFA appoint referee for Champions League match between Arsenal and Barcelona

We have an official whistle blower for the Champions League match between Barcelona and Arsenal.

UEFA has named Turkish referee Cüneyt Çakir to officiate the first leg of the European Cup Round of 16 between the Gunners and the Blaugrana, Tuesday night in London. The 39-year-old is one of the best, most respected referees in Europe today, and has been selected for the most important matches in the competition so far.

Both teams have great recent memories in matches officiated by Çakir. He was the man in charge of Arsenal's fantastic 2-0 win against Bayern Munich in this season's group stage.
