The country's football federation has overseen a mass exit of its staff following the failed attempt to remove Recep Tayyip Erdogan as president last month.
The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has fired 94 of its officials, including referees, following the failed attempt to remove Recep Tayyip Erdogan as president last month.
Members of the military launched the coup on July 15 but Erdogan's government was able to re-take power the next day. Exiled religious and political figure Fethullah Gulen was subsequently accused of planning the coup, though he has strongly protested his innocence.
The TFF did not explain the sackings, which were announced on Tuesday, but Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reports that one of those dismissed was a Super Lig referee.
