Trinidad & Tobago 2-0 Cuba: Bateau strikes again

Defender Sheldon Bateau struck the opener for Trinidad and Tobago for the second time in as many matches, in a CONCACAF Gold Cup win.

Trinidad and Tobago made it back-to-back quarterfinal appearances at the CONCACAF Gold Cup, courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Cuba in Arizona on Sunday.

First-half goals to Sheldon Bateau and Andre Boucaud set up the victory for Stephen Hart's men, taking them to six points in two matches - and seeing them make it back-to-back quarterfinal appearances at CONCACAF's championship for the first time since the knockout format was introduced.

Picking up where the side left off in Group C, Trinidad and Tobago looked dangerous going forward at the University of Phoenix Stadium - and the team balance was on show with the team's first five goals of the tournament coming from four different sources.
