Chivas’ five-game unbeaten run came to an end as Matias Almeyda’s side suffered a 2-1 defeat at Toluca.
The Diablos Rojos got off to a dream start when Fernando Uribe gave the hosts the lead with less than two minutes gone after a quick breakaway led by Pablo Barrientos.
Toluca then showed their recent run of form has been no fluke and they doubled their lead seven minutes from halftime when a penalty was called for a Rodolfo Cota foul on Fernado Uribe. Barrientos stepped up and slotted past Cota .
But Chivas responded by outplaying Toluca in the second half and pulled within one in the 76th minute through second half substitute Alan Pulido.
