Fernando Uribe scored late as Chivas were held 1-1 by Toluca in the first leg of their Liga MX Semifinal clash.
Chivas fashioned the better chances in the first half, with Orbelin Pineda twice failing to find the back of the net from close range.
After a goalless first half, Toluca’s best chance didn’t come until the second period when a left-footed strike from Rodrigo Salinas forced Chivas goalkeeper Rodolfo Cota to a spectacular save.
With 83 minutes gone, Chivas grabbed the long-awaited breakthrough when substitute Rodolfo Pizarro beat the offside trap, following a deflected Alan Pulido shot, to slot home the 1-0.
