Melbourne Victory striker Ola Toivonen considers Swedish superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic a close friend and that relationship could prove fruitful for the A-League.
Speaking at a recent Victory chairman’s lunch, Toivonen revealed Ibrahimovic always asks him about Australian football, according to The Advertiser.
Whether simple curiosity or genuine interest, Toivonen, in turn, has asked the current LA Galaxy attacker if he'd be open to playing Down Under.
Though Ibrahimovic seemingly didn't say yes or no to that particular question, he did go on to ask Toivonen what it's like living in Melbourne.
Victory will likely have their sights set on another marquee man next season with Keisuke Honda expected to depart at season's end.
