Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (Kefwa) president James Situma has vowed to champion the rights of players after he announced his retirement from football.
Situma, who hung up his boots on Monday, believes his time off the pitch will help him strive to fight for the footballers' rights even more.
Kefwa has been at the forefront of pushing for clubs to honour their contracts with players and to pay players on time. Last season, a number of Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clubs were accused of failing to pay the players, some for up to seven months.
