Xolos of Tijuana shocked everyone when they defeated Cruz Azul by a 3-0 score in the first leg of their Quarterfinal series. Cruz Azul came into the match as not only the first place team but getting a points record setting regular season only to be completely dominated from start to finish in a match where they ended with 10 players. Cruz Azul will have the tie breaker should they get a three goal win in the return leg but they will need to win by three goals to go thru to the Semifinals against a Xolos side that looks halfway from pulling off the biggest surprise in Liga MX in 2024.
