Xolos made their Apertura 2024 home debut with a solid 4-2 victory over Chivas. It was a controversial victory, but Xolos had a very good performance over a Chivas side that started well, but ended up faltering. Both teams will have away matches at midweek as Chivas travel south to face Querétaro while Xolos head to Mexico City to face Cruz Azul.
The match started with both teams coming out with a strong starting 11. A cross from Cade Cowell turned into a shot that was saved by Tijuana’s goalkeeper, Jesus Corona. After Javier Hernandez held to the ball in the area, he would get off a pass to Carlos Cisneros, who got off a right footed shot in the area that hit the post and went very close to going in.
