Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that Iñaki Peña will remain the team’s starting goalkeeper over new signing Wojciech Szczesny for Sunday’s match against Sevilla and Wednesday’s monster Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
Szczesny told Catalan media this week that he feels ready to play after nearly three weeks of full training since signing for the club on a free transfer to replace Marc-André ter Stegen, but Flick said in a press conference on Saturday that he hasn’t seen a reason to make a change at goalkeeper yet.
“I am happy that Szcsesny said he is ready, but Iñaki will play.
