The MLS Wrap: Nightmare seasons continue for Crew, Sounders

Columbus and Seattle came into the season as title contenders but both are locked into nightmare campaigns, writes Goal's Ives Galarcep.

As the dust settled after the 2015 MLS Cup final last December, Columbus Crew fans making their way out of Mapfre Stadium were understandably crushed by the missed opportunity to celebrate a championship at home. The one consolation at the time appeared to be that most of the Crew team would return next season, making Columbus one of the favorites to lift the MLS Cup in 2016.

The talk wasn't about championships when the 2016 season began for the Seattle Sounders.
