The former Barcelona defender came on as a substitute for El Tri again Germany, marking his fifth tournament on the biggest stage
Make it five for Rafael Marquez!
The former Barcelona defender has become just the third player to appear in five World Cup tournaments after coming on in Mexico's shock 1-0 Group F win over Germany, following in the footsteps of another Mexican, Antonio Carbajal, and Germany's Lothar Matthaus.
Marquez was not called up for Mexico's 1998 World Cup squad, though he had already made his first appearance for the senior team at that point, having to wait for his chance in 2002.
