According to Wayne Veysey of the Football Insider, James Tavernier could leave Rangers this summer as he’s ‘keen to quit’ the club after five years. The 28-year-old joined Rangers from Wigan Athletic in 2015 and has gone on to make 242 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 120 goals.
Tavernier has been a fantastic servant for the Bhoys and remained first-choice at right-back before the season was postponed due to Covid-19, but Football Insider say he’s open to a return to England after an underwhelming campaign and criticism from supporters.
The club captain drew the ire of fans after he used programme notes to admit Rangers can’t cope under pressure.
