Tapatio FC became 2024 Apertura Champion in the Liga de Expansion after defeating Celaya by a 3-2 score. Tapatio came in heavily favored after getting a 2-1 win in the first leg but they would have some scares before bouncing back from a 2-0 deficit to get the 3-2 win. Tapatio, who is Chivas’ Liga de Expansion team, gave some joy to Chivas’ fans days after their team was eliminated in Liga Mx.
The 1st half started with Tapatio hoping to hold on to their lead. A shot from Matias Cendejas was just deflected wide. After getting the ball in the area, Carlos Baltazar got off a low right footed shot that was saved by Tapatio’s goalkeeper, Eduardo Garcia.
