Tabarez unsure if Cavani will be fit for World Cup quarter-final

Edinson Cavani's injury is a worry for Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez after the striker played a starring role in his side's victory over Portugal at the World Cup.

Cavani hit both goals in a 2-1 win that ensured Cristiano Ronaldo followed Argentina's Lionel Messi in exiting the tournament at the last-16 stage .

The Paris Saint-Germain striker, however, then limped out of the action - with Ronaldo helping him off the pitch - and was replaced after 74 minutes.

The player told reporters after the final whistle he hurt his calf and Tabarez conceded he is unsure whether Cavani will be fit to face France in Friday's quarter-final.
