LEVERKUSEN, Germany -- Three quick thoughts from Tottenham's 0-0 draw with Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League at the BayArena on Tuesday.
1. Spurs rue missed chances again
The fear before this match was that two teams who play similar high-intensity, pressing football could cancel each other out. In the end, the match finished goalless but a draw was the result of bad luck, bad finishing and great goalkeeping, rather than a tactical stalemate.
All the best chances came at one end, and Tottenham were again left to rue poor finishing in the first half, before the brilliance of Hugo Lloris kept them in the match after the interval.
