Sports Briefing | Soccer: Sevilla Earns Europa Title

The Spanish club Sevilla won the Europa League for a record fourth time, getting two goals from Carlos Bacca in a 3-2 win over Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk of Ukraine in the final in Warsaw. Sevilla earned a spot in next year’s Champions League.

Dnipro’s Matheus collapsed during a break in play in the closing minutes and was carried off the field on a stretcher after receiving emergency medical treatment, but he has recovered, Coach Myron Markevych said.

u25a0 Dick Advocaat, 67, who helped Sunderland secure its place in the Premier League, rejected the chance to become the club’s permanent manager because “he no longer wished to continue a career in club management,” the club said.
