The Spanish midfielder will be eligible to play for the Western Conference leaders when the transfer window opens in July
Sporting Kansas City has announced the signing of Cristian Lobato from Spanish second division side Gimnastic de Tarragona.
Lobato, 28, is a product of FC Barcelona's famed La Masia academy, and played two seasons with FC Barcelona B between 2011 and 2013.
“We’re extremely excited to be able to add Cristian to the roster,” Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes said in a club release.
“He is a versatile player who can play multiple positions in the midfield and across the front three.
