Spain have offered an initial update on Pedri’s injury after the Barcelona midfielder was forced off in the opening minutes of La Roja’s Euro 2024 clash with Germany.

Pedri was injured by a strong challenge from Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos and looked clearly upset as he departed the pitch.

Spain have said initial examinations show Pedri has suffered an internal lateral sprain in his left knee. Further tests will be done to determine the severity of the injury.

The initial feeling is that Pedri will not require surgery and he could be out for anything from two to eight weeks - depending on how badly his knee is sprained.
