Spain boss Luis de la Fuente was reportedly “not keen” on Lamine Yamal returning to Barcelona after picking up an issue against Denmark.
Yamal has left the Spain camp and gone back to his club side after scans detected an “overload” following the win over Denmark.
According to Cadena SER, Barcelona called Spain because they were worried about Yamal and asked him to be released.
The club were seriously concerned after seeing him limping after the game against Denmark and wanted to protect him.
De la Fuente was “not too keen” on letting Yamal go “if he was not injured” but it seems that negotiations went in Barca’s favour and the teenager was allowed to head home.
