South Africa kicked off their campaign in the inaugural Cosafa U20 Women's Cup with a 3-0 victory over Zimbabwe in Port Elizabeth on Thursday.
Second-half goals from Tyler-Bree Joss, Shakeerah Jacobs and Ember Edwards handed Simphiwe Dludlu's side the three points at the Gelvandale Stadium.
After a goalless first half, Joss broke the deadlock in the 50th minute before Jacobs doubled the lead 13 minutes later.
On the brink of regulation time, Edwards crashed all comeback hopes of Zimbabwe as she completed the riot for the hosts.
Following the win, coach Dludlu admitted her satisfaction in her side's display and assures they will maintain the good form
“We are proud of the girls for their performance but believe that we can build from this," she told the media.
