Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone surgery on a brain haemorrhage after being taken into hospital on Saturday.
Simon Stone of BBC Sport relayed a statement from United confirming a haemorrhage was the cause:

Ferguson's son Darren, manager of Doncaster Rovers, missed his side's last game of the season against Wigan Athletic to be with his father.
