Barcelona were able to extend their unbeaten run to 37 games after a one-minute double-salvo late in the game to negate Sevilla’s two goal lead. The hosts dominated for large stretches of the game, taking the lead through Franco Vazquez in the first half before extending it early in the second after Luis Muriel buried a rebound. Barcelona’s streak was in serious danger, but late goals from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi secured a point for the Catalans.
With Messi relegated to bench duty due to a small injury and Sergio Busquets missing another game after a knock picked up before the international break, Ernesto Valverde was forced to make changes to his starting eleven.
