FIFA president Sepp Blatter is reportedly being investigated by the FBI for his possible knowledge of a $100 million (£66.2 million) bribery scandal within football's governing body.
According to BBC Panaroma, a letter obtained by the FBI claims that Blatter had "full knowledge" of $100 million worth of payments made by sports marketing company ISL to FIFA officials for the granting of "lucrative television and marketing rights throughout the 1990s."
The payees reportedly include Blatter's predecessor, Joao Havelange, and ex-FIFA executive Ricardo Teixeira.
Blatter previously denied knowing anything about the bribes, but the FBI have now reportedly uncovered evidence—through a letter written by Havelange—to indicate that is untrue.
