Seattle Sounders 2-1 FC Dallas: Dempsey nets late winner

The former U.S. national team captain stuck a free-kick winner late for the Sounders.

The Seattle Sounders came from behind to work out a 1-1 draw with the Western Conference's top seed FC Dallas, despite playing without several key players.

A lovely ball from Mauro Diaz set the stage for Fabian Castillo to open the scoring for the visiting side. After dealing with a Seattle attack that looked dangerous in its own right, Diaz picked out a 50-yard pass that caught Seattle defender Zach Scott in a race with the much quicker Castillo. The Dallas attacker made easy work of finishing off the move after Scott made a last-ditch attempt to play the ball, giving the Hoops a lead after just 18 minutes of play.
