The second half was a formality as Scotland went on and doubled their first-half tally, beating San Marino 6-0 on a damp, rainy evening at Hampden Park. The visitors offered very little resistance in defence and looked even poorer going forward, with McLaughlin making two saves - both from some distance. In a match that had nothing riding on it from the start - Scotland looked to move the ball as well as they could despite the conditions, though their poise in front of goal can certainly be worked on. It was an extremely tough affair for FIFA’s lowest-ranked side, as San Marino fall to another defeat and another heavy scoreline.
