Schweinsteiger suffers thigh injury on Germany duty

The 31-year-old suffered a thigh problem during his final training session before Thursday's Euro 2016 qualifier against the Republic of Ireland.

Manchester United have been dealt another injury blow as Bastian Schweinsteiger has been ruled out of Germany’s final Euro 2016 qualifier against Georgia on Sunday with a thigh problem.

The 31-year-old suffered the injury in Germany’s final training session before Thursday’s 1-0 defeat to Republic of Ireland.

"Schweinsteiger probably won't play on Sunday," said Germany boss Joachim Low after the loss in Dublin. "The medical staff said he has to take a break for two or three days.
