MADRID -- Three quick things from the Estadio Vicente Calderon as Wednesday's Champions League semifinal first leg finished Atletico Madrid 1-0 Bayern Munich.
1. Advantage Atletico
It was advantage Atletico Madrid as Saul Niguez's early wonder goal gave the hosts a 1-0 win over a Bayern Munich who had lots of the ball but never really looked close to getting an away goal.
With the Vicente Calderon atmosphere boiling at kickoff, Atletico started the stronger and Bayern seemed to be rocked by the intensity. A goal seemed to be coming, but nobody expected quite such a goal, with youngster Saul beating five opponents before curling his 15-yarder past keeper Manuel Neuer.
